One of my favorite ways to bring the beach feel into your kitchen is with light wood tones, white cabinets, and touches of muted and calm blue colors. This kitchen from a coastal calm home in Juno Beach, Florida is a perfect example of that.

I've been wanting to decorate my beach house's kitchen by placing more shells and metal sea turtles in its countertop. I'd also keep in mind to install turquoise subway tiles in my kitchen. Although, your idea of paling a Blue island seems like a great plan as well.
