We were able to catch up with Lauren, the owner of MoreMoments Rentals and get the inside scoop into her Airbnb hosting journey so far. Keep reading to hear a little about how she got started and her design process (which is so coastal and dreamy!)

Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get started in the short term rental space?
My name is Lauren, I am the founder of MoreMoments Rentals! I started this business about a year ago in hopes to help people create more moments in their home away from home when traveling!
I am originally from Newport RI but moved down to Jupiter FL when I was young and grew up down here. I have always had a love for real estate but just recently got into the purchasing side about 2/3 years ago. I was originally exposed to real estate through my father, Kent. He has been in real estate for 40+ years and I’ve learned everything I know, from him.
How long have you been a host and how many properties do you own and operate?
I’ve been in the short-term rental space for about a year now and currently own 3 properties in the area, two of which are Airbnb’s.
Are you a full-time short-term rental host or is this a side hustle?
Originally, the STR space was just a side hustle for me but recently I’ve grown a strong passion for it and plan to make it my full-time focus in the near future!
Did you design the space yourself? Tell us a little bit about the process.
Yes I designed the space myself! For the first house, The Bungalow Jupiter, I tried to give it a luxury bungalow vibe to attract snowbirds and people coming down from out of state. I went with a lot of whites to give it that fresh, clean look and I added in some hints of blue for the coastal feel. My goal was to steer clear from the traditional cheesy, beachy Florida look.
My second property, The Surf Shack Jupiter, I went for more of a boho beachy vibe. I wanted this house to attract a slightly younger demographic such as groups of friends, young families, and vacationers. This house is the perfect house for large groups, it sleeps 10 people.
What are the features of your space that attract guests the most?
The Bungalow’s main attraction is the hot tub and outdoor patio area. This is the perfect addition and outdoor hang out space. It’s great during the winter months which is our main season down here in Jupiter
The Surf Shack’s main attraction is the large game room. We turned the two car garage into a huge game room! This is a great area to watch games, play pool, enjoy some drinks at the bar and overall, a great hangout spot!
This home also has a very large backyard which is a great place to get some sun or enjoy the fire pit.
What has been the biggest challenge during your hosting journey?
The biggest challenge so far was building a successful model and learning the different tactics to get more bookings. I will admit there was a lot of research that went into understanding how to be successful in this space.
One of the main ways I conducted my research was through podcasts such as the STR secrets podcast. If you are interested in ever getting into the STR space I would highly recommend that podcast!
What has been the biggest reward during your hosting journey?
The biggest reward has been the comments and reviews that we have received from our guests post their stay. These homes have truly provided a space for family time and a place to make memories!
One of our guests spent Christmas at the Bungalow, and we put up a Christmas tree and provided a few treats and they were extremely grateful! It is very rewarding to see how we can be a part of families lifelong memories
