Make sure the bed frame is well built! I have bought one with cheap materials in the past and it starting falling apart within 6 months.
Yes, you want to keep to a budget, but you also don’t want the bed frame to break. (Fact, a bed broke on a guest one time at my first Airbnb).
What size bed frame should I choose for my Airbnb?
King bed, queen bed, or twin beds…. any of these can be a good option but it really depends on your setup.
If your Airbnb bedroom is large enough for a king bed, guests will really appreciate that.
If the bedroom is large enough for multiple beds, having 2 queen beds OR 1 queen bed and bunk beds is also a great layout.
Ideally, the bed size will fit nicely in the room without being over crowded. You also want to be able to maximize the number of guests your Airbnb can accommodate without the beds being cramped in.
Should I get a bed frame with a box spring?
You don’t necessarily need to use a box spring. There are a lot of bed frames where the mattress lays directly on top of the bed frame!
In my opinion as a Superhost, having the bed be a little lower to the ground without a box spring is the way to go. If you have older guests coming to stay, you want to make sure they don’t have a hard time just getting in the bed!
TIP: Use one of the best mattresses for an Airbnb and you definitely won’t need a box spring.
Does the bed frame need to include a headboard?
There is no requirement for the bed frame to have a headboard attached. But, having a headboard and footboard will really elevate the style of the bedroom.
If you choose a bed frame without a headboard, the bedroom might look more empty.
That being said, it’s not a bad thing to go with a basic metal bed frame. They are durable, easy to clean under, and great for a budget friendly option.
